In this article I am going to detail simple tips that will help you get ripped for the new year!
Don’t Waste your time with ineffective cardio
Cardio machines like treadmills, ellipticals, stationary bikes, and stair masters are not condusive to burning belly fat. They will actually keep you fat.
People tend to spend excessive amounts of time on these machines thinking they are burning fat, however when your body is working at such a high capacity it cannot function on burning fat alone and actually begins to burn muscle. The less muscle you have the less calories you will be able to burn daily!

High Protein Low Fat Diet
A diet overloaded with fat, or carbs is going to make it very difficult for you to achieve that beach body you want!
Cut out, fried and fast foods immediately! Keep your foods simple and consistent. Too much variety in your diet can keep you fat as well. Try and cook 1-3 variety of meals for the week, so your body can appropriately metabolize those nutrients. Remember your body is always going to respond to consistency… So make sure you give it was it needs!
Exercise at the same time everyday
Making Exercise part of your daily routine even if that means scheduling time for yourself to cook healthy meals for the week is going to make sure you burn off that excess belly fat and keep it off!
Probably the biggest excuse people have for letting their bodies slip away from them is they don’t have time to do it. Well I am a firm believer that if something is important to you… you’ll make it happen not make an excuse. One way that I have found that really helps me stay consistent with my workouts is finding a time in my day that I am always free. For me, its in the morning. If I know I have to be somewhere at 8am, im up at 6:30 to workout and still have plenty of time to shower and get ready for my day!
Goal Setting
Unrealistic goal you get you discouraged and out of the gym!
This is the time of year that everyone is setting goals for themselves. This is a great technique, however remember to be realistic and set goals that you can achieve. I suggest making short term goals to keep you on track to achieving your long term goal. This way you will be able to affirm that you are making progress and stay motivted to continue, and get a ripped body and six pack abs before you know it!
At least 8 hours of sleep daily
This is one of the biggest kept secrets of losing belly fat! Sleeping helps you lose belly fat almost more than anything!
When you are sleeping your body is still burning calories, except you are not fueling yourself at all! So your body has no choice but to burn fat! To sleep longer than 8 hours is really too much of a fast and also can make you feel groggy and less productive throughout the day. Try to make 8 hours the sweet spot, You’ll feel the difference.
Eat Breakfast
Eating breakfast, and starting your day off with a low fat and high protein diet is going to give you the energy and nutrition that you need throughout the day to train and get that beach body you are working towards!
Everyone has heard the saying that breakfast is the most important meal of the day! Well, it is. Remember your body is fasting while sleeping and is not going to have much fuel to run on after the recommended hours of sleep you should be getting. When your body hasn’t been given any food or water for 9 hours it reverts to starvation mode and will store fat, and carbohydrates and burn muscle!
If you want a beach body you need to keep as much muscle as possible so you can burn the maximum amount of calories daily!
Drink more water
Drinking water is obviously important for hydration, but also is very crucial for weight loss.
The goal should be a gallon of water a day, but even more than that just try going a week with drinking nothing but water and see water a difference in makes in your body. Drinks like fruit juices, sodas, and energy drinks are loaded with sugar and sodium and will metabolize directly into fat around the belly area. Water is cheap, keeps you hydrated and over time will keep your body ripped!
